Handyman Services by City

Mount & Build works the whole Santa Barbara coast — but a plaster bungalow on the Westside, an estate off Coast Village Road and a Del Playa rental are three different jobs wearing the same name. These pages spell out how each service actually runs in your town: the walls, the housing stock, the access quirks, and the same flat $60/hr everywhere.

How to use these pages

Pick your city and your job below. Each page covers what the work involves locally, what it typically costs direct versus at market rates, and the questions that come up in that area — older-home plaster in Santa Barbara, stone fireplaces in Montecito, move-in volume in Isla Vista. When you are ready, every page leads to the same booking form, where your address confirms coverage and your flat quote is locked in before anyone picks up a drill.

Not sure which service your job falls under, or combining several? The cost calculators price the common jobs by the numbers, and the booking form itself accepts a plain-language list — describe the work like you would to a neighbor and it gets quoted as one job.

Service area questions

What does every service area share?

The same deal everywhere: one insured handyman, a flat $60/hr with a 2-hour project minimum of $120, quotes confirmed in writing through the booking form before any work starts, and contact by text or email only. Montecito does not get a Montecito price and Isla Vista does not get a student surcharge — the rate card is the rate card.

My town borders two of these areas. Which page applies?

Any of them — the pages exist to describe local conditions, not to fence service. If you are in the greater Santa Barbara area, including Hope Ranch, Mission Canyon and the unincorporated pockets between Goleta and Carpinteria, book through whichever page fits your job; the booking form confirms coverage for your address.

Can one visit cover jobs in more than one category?

Absolutely, and it is usually the smartest booking: a TV mount plus a gallery wall, or assembly plus the drywall patches from the last tenant, all run inside a single visit under one minimum and one confirmed flat quote. List everything in the booking form and it is priced as one job.
